On 2021-08-31 two men who had worked for the company as movers and packers in 2020 and 2021 sued JP Urban Moving, LLC and [name withheld] in federal court in Brooklyn (E.D.N.Y. case 1:21-cv-04908). They filed a class and collective complaint under the Fair Labor Standards Act and New York Labor Law. It alleged unpaid overtime, unpaid wages from rounding down hours, and that the owner kept the tips customers gave the crews after each job. The defendants answered on 2021-12-03. On 2022-01-03 the court So Ordered the parties' stipulation of dismissal. The docket and complaint were read 2026-10-09.
These are allegations. The docket shows no finding of liability, and the dismissal terms were not read. The defendant was the 2010 LLC, J P URBAN MOVING, LLC, with its owner, not the 2015 corporation that holds the current federal registration.
