- PROBLEMRecent reviews allege lost stored belongings, broken furniture and damage claims that went unanswered. The company disputes the most detailed storage complaint.
Storage: in November 2025 a customer reported on BBB (Langen N., 2025-11-08) and Google (edited 2026-02-05) that a storage crate or pod was missing at delivery. Three more accounts appear to describe the same loss: a friend of the customer (BBB, Joseph P., 2025-11-11), Carrie B. (Google, 2025-11-11) and a bandmate (Google, 2026-08-04, which says CDs and merchandise were lost). The company’s BBB reply says the customer paid for one crate only, nothing was lost, two shelving units outside the crate were delivered the next day at no charge, and it calls the posts false and defamatory. Other storage accounts: Ana Maria G. (Google, 2026-07-21) says some belongings were lost and calls, emails and texts went unanswered. Laura W. (Google, 2026-09-18) says the company does not know where her son’s belongings are. A BBB complaint (2025-08-11, Answered) describes movers not showing up to move a storage container. Damage and claims: John B. (Google, 2026-07-12) reports a shattered dresser frame, more than 12 broken packed items and a travel charge 50% above the quote. Nikki G. (2026-03-25) and Karen C (2025-07-14) say damage claims were filed and not followed up. A BBB complaint (2025-07-21, Resolved) says a damage claim had no response after two months. Audrey S. (Google, 2026-10-01) says $450 was added to her card after she paid a $2,200 bill on site, and that a manager discouraged reporting broken items. Several reviews from 2024 to 2026 also say crew members smelled of marijuana. The business replied to some of these Google reviews with a standard request to call (314) 963-3416. No reply appears on the reviews by John B., Ana Maria G., Laura W., Charlie M. or Audrey S.

That sample over-represents complaints. Several posts describe the same storage incident, and the company disputes that account. Contracts, inventories, invoices and claim outcomes were not seen.

Get the rate, crew size, number of trucks, travel charge and storage price changes in writing. Photograph furniture before the move, and ask for the written claims procedure and deadline.

On BBB: a complaint dated 2025-10-21 (status Answered) says employees stole designer handbags and shoes worth about $4,000 during an October 7, 2025 move, and that the company would not work with the customer without receipts. Mike and Cheryl G. (2026-04-19) report $1,000 missing from a desk after movers left. Pat W (2026-07-12) writes that movers took several pieces of jewelry, that the company denies coming to the home, and that it was caught on camera. On Google: Marina J. (2025-10-21) describes the same kind of designer-goods loss and says a police report was filed; the business replied asking her to call. Charlie M. (2026-01-28) writes that family jewelry went missing, a formal claim was opened, and there was no response; no business reply appears. Matthew M. (2026-08-07) writes that movers stole his wife’s jewelry, a police report was filed, and the company said it was between them, the employee and the police. The only reply shown thanks him for praising punctual, polite movers; it is dated about five months before the capture and appears to answer an earlier version of the review. Neither of these two BBB reviews has a business response.
These are customer allegations, not findings by police, a court or a regulator. No police report, claim file or outcome was seen, and Missouri state court records (Case.net) were not searched. The October 2025 BBB complaint and Google review appear to describe the same loss, so the six accounts cover about five separate incidents. Google dates may be edit dates.
If these accounts are accurate, small valuables left in the home during a move have gone missing more than once in the past year.
Move jewelry, cash, medication and documents yourself before the crew arrives. Photograph valuables and record serial numbers. Before you book, ask in writing how the company handles a missing-item claim.

The Missouri Secretary of State register, read 2026-10-09, shows CKCM Enterprises LLC (charter LC1277951), a domestic LLC formed 2012-12-24, status Active, with its registered agent and registered office at 10755 Page Ave, St. Louis, MO 63132 (since 2018-01-11). The fictitious name “Simple Moves” (X01277926, registered 2012-12-24, renewed 2017 and 2022, status Fictitious Active, expiring 2027-12-24) is owned by CKCM Enterprises LLC, with business address 10755 Page Ave. A separate LLC, Simple Moves LLC (LC0671982, formed 2005-07-13, Active), lists a registered agent of the same name. An older fictitious name SIMPLE MOVES (X00381505, registered 2000-11-03) has expired. FMCSA’s Register for August 27, 2013 lists MC-717055 under Name Changes as CKCM ENTERPRISES LLC, Maplewood, MO (decided 2013-08-22); the July 30, 2013 Register still showed the authority under SIMPLE MOVES LLC, Maplewood, MO.
The register shows no officers or members, and “Active” is not a certificate of good standing or a mover licence. Why the separate Simple Moves LLC still exists and what it does today are not established.
The company named on the federal household-goods authority and on MoDOT’s mover list is a registered, active Missouri LLC, and the trade name it uses is registered to it.

Earlier FMCSA Registers list MC-717055 under Revocation Actions with decision type DISCONTINUANCE on 2013-07-30 and 2013-08-30 (as SIMPLE MOVES LLC and CKCM ENTERPRISES LLC, Maplewood, MO) and on 2022-06-07 (CKCM ENTERPRISES LLC, St. Louis, MO). The authority is active today.
MOTUS does not show insurer names, and the full filing and cancellation history in FMCSA Licensing & Insurance could not be read: it requires a challenge question and reCAPTCHA, and we did not attempt them. The registers do not say what started each revocation action. These past entries do not show a period without insurance. MOTUS does not say whether the $5,000 filing is cargo coverage, and a filing that size would not cover your goods at full value.
